Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jimmyenez, September 2, 1966)[3][4][5[3][4][5), is an American and Mexican actress. Her professional career began in Mexico with leading roles in the television drama Teresa (1989-1991) as well as the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) in which she earned an Ariel Award nomination. Her career quickly took off in Hollywood by appearing in films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) as well as Dogma (1999). Hayek's role as Frida, the painter, in Frida (2002), which she also wrote, resulted in Hayek the first Mexican actress to receive the Academy Award [6]. The film also won her a Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and British Academy Film Award nominations. The following years, Hayek focused more on filmmaking while also appearing in action-oriented films like Once Upon a Time in Mexico
